RBN sponsors easycopiers are offering members the chance to bump into Northampton Saints, Wales and British Lions star George North on Wednesday night, which you may have to consider carefully given that he’s 6ft4’ and over 17-stone.
Held at easycopiers’ Milton Keynes offices at 6pm on Wednesday (30th November), members will not only hear from George, but also MK Dons’ chairman Pete Winkelman (responsible for bringing £350 million investment to the city) and Rachel Roxburgh from the Dallaglio Foundation, who will discuss their work with 14-17 year-olds.
The giant winger’s rise to international rugby was nothing less than meteoric, with George earning his first cap for Wales aged 18 in a two-try performance against the Springboks. He went on to become the first teenager in the world to score ten test tries, was capped 21 times before his 20th birthday and now at the tender age of 24 has 65 caps to his name.
Having already won a British & Irish Lions tour, a 6 Nations Grand Slam, the Aviva Premiership and a European Challenge Cup, it’s clear George is well on his was to one of the great rugby careers.
George will be discussing his life in rugby and the sacrifices required in a household that sports another international athlete, the Olympic silver medal winning cyclist Becky James.
